Longwood is a city in Seminole County, Florida, United States. The population was 13,657 at the 2010 census. It is part of the OrlandoKissimmeeSanford, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.6 square miles (15km2), of which 5.3 square miles (14km2) is land and 0.3 square miles (0.78km2) (5.17%) is water. The city has had two of the oldest trees in America within its borders: The Senator and the remaining Lady Liberty.
At the 2010 census, there were 13,657 people and 5,244 households in the city. The population density was 2,438.8 per square mile (941.9/km2). There were 5,680 housing units at an average density of 1014.3 per square mile (391.7/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 74.10% White, 4.5% African American, 0.3% Native American, 3.3% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.3% from other races, and 1.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 15.8% of the population.
